Ogata appointed to head SG CIB in Asia

Hikaru Ogata, previously global head of fixed-income distribution at BNP Paribas, has been appointed as the new chief executive of Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking (SG CIB) for the Asia-Pacific region. He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to SG CIB’s chief executive Michel Peretie. Ogata became head of fixed income for BNP Paribas in Tokyo in 2005 and general manager of BNP Paribas Securities’ Tokyo branch in December 2006, moving to Hong Kong in August 2009. BNP Paribas reshuffled its fixed-income team in May this year, naming new co-heads of fixed-income origination and distribution.
