Credit Suisse is shutting its private banking office in Birmingham in the West Midlands area of the UK.
The Zurich-listed banking group confirmed it to some newspapers.
“Clients in the Birmingham region will continue to be served out of our London and Manchester offices,” a spokesperson for Credit Suisse said.
Birmingham, renowned as a centre of UK manufacturing, has had a private banking office since 2008.

Charles Soulignac founded Fondinvest Capital in 1994 after having worked in industry, consulting and finance. In 1989 he joined CDC Participations, where he managed private equity investments. Prior to CDC Participations, he was head of the Industrial and Finance Department for Banque Régionale d’Escompte et de Dépôts (BRED), where he was responsible for specialized financing, including France’s first LBOs. Before that, he held positions in management consulting and industrial firms.
