Vientos de Pastorale planning to build 53-MW wind plant in Uruguay

Clifford Chance, Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana & Brause, Ferrere, Chadbourne & Parke, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and Guyer & Regules have advised on the deal


Uruguayan firm Vientos de Pastorale SA and its shareholders - Bow Power, Spanish leader in the development of energy projects, and the German Sowitec group, one of the energy sector's leading companies with a significant presence in Latin America and Russia -  is planning to build a 52.8-MW wind farm in Flores department. The park will comprise 50 turbines weighing between 330 and 350 tonnes, whose model will be selected after an ongoing wind study, the daily said. The plant will be able to supply nearly 75,000 people, saving greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 118,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year. Vientos de Pastorale has recently secured a credit line from Deutsche Bank, New York and Intesa SanPaolo for construction and operation of the Pastorale wind farm. Clifford Chance has provided advice to Vientos de Pastorale and its shareholders with a team including José Guardo (Picture), Gianluca Bacchiocchi, José Antonio Caínzos, Alejandro León, Diego Harman, Jeffrey Susskind, Antonio Sánchez-Cirujano and Pablo Cancelo.
In Uruguay Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana & Brause has advised Bow Power with a team led Fernando Jiménez de Aréchaga.
Ferrere has advised Bow Power with a team led by Julie Rothschild and Gonzalo Secco.
Chadbourne & Parke - with a team including Raquel Bierzwinsky, Kelly Cataldo, Carole James and Jose Ávila -  Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman - witha a team led by Paulo H.C. Varnieri and Guyer & Regules - with a team including Marcos Payssé and Javier Napoleone - have advised Deutsche Bank and Intesa Sanpaolo.
