Corrs Chambers Westgarth has advised Pacific Partnerships and John Holland on their appointment as preferred bidder for the ACT Capital Metro light rail project as part of the Canberra Metro consortium Herbert Smith Freehills advised the Canberra Metro consortium and the Delivery Contractor.


Pacific Partnerships and John Holland (in partnership with Deutsche Bahn International) will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the line which the consortium aims to have operational in 2019. Pacific Partnerships is the CIMIC Group’s project finance arm.  Pacific Partnerships develops and invests in infrastructure projects built by CIMIC’s operating companies and is a long-term partner to clients through the provision of operation and maintenance services throughout the life of the asset. Pacific Partnerships invests in PPPs and Build Operate Transfer projects. John Holland Group Pty Ltd. provides engineering and construction solutions to infrastructure, energy, resources, and transport services sectors in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. The company, led by Glenn Michael Palin, Darryn A. Ray, Brendan C. Petersen, Russell J. Cuttler and David W. Golightly, is based in Melbourne.
