APG creates a £1.4bn joint venture with Delancey and Qatari Diar

Simmons & Simmons has advised APG, one of Europe’s largest pension fund asset managers, on the merger of the Elephant & Castle and “East Village” residential projects to create a £1.4bn joint venture with Delancey and Qatari Diar in the UK’s private rented market.


APG Asset Management is a privately owned investment manager. The firm manages pension funds for its clients. The Firm, led by Marc Bouwmeister, Angelien Kemna, Ton Berendsen, Tom B.M. Steenkamp and Arnold J. Shapiro, is based in Heerlen. Delancey Real Estate Asset Management Limited provides real estate investment and advisory services. Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Co. is a real estate investment company. The company, led by Mohammed Bin Ali Al Hedfa and Khalid Mohammed Ibrahim Al sayed, is based in Qatar.
