Afluenta's $8 Million Round Financing

Brown Rudnick LLP, Pérez-Llorca, Tanoira Cassagne Abogados, Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, Mayer Brown LLP, DLA Piper LLP, Araoz & Rueda and Estudio Beccar Varela have advised on the deal


Argentina-based peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform, Afluenta, announced it has secured a total of $8 million during its recent Series B funding round. Funds raised from the round were from International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Elevar Equity (each invested $4 million). Afluenta was founded by Alejandro J. Cosentino and is a frontrunner in the new Latin American FinTech generation that is revolutionizing the banking industry. It seeks to disrupt the traditional financial services industry, cutting out middlemen and using proprietary technology to transform the process of applying for a loan, thus facilitating access to financing. Brown Rudnick LLP has advised Afluenta with a team led by Alejandro Fiuza (Picture) Nicholas Vasquez, Barbara Kelly, James Maynor, Mary Ambacher and Adriana Henquen.
Pérez-Llorca represented Afluenta with a team including Iván Delgado, Pablo Hontoria  and Beatriz Montes.
In Argentina, Tanoira Cassagne Abogados, has advised Afluenta with a team including Manuel Tanoira and Dolores María Nazar.
Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal has advised Afluenta on Tax issues with a team including Gabriel Gotlib, Fernando Vaquero and María Paula Castelli.
Mayer Brown has advised International Finance Corporation with a team including Christopher Erckert.
DLA Piper LLP has advised International Finance Corporation with Mel Wheaton.
In Spain, Araoz & Rueda has advised  International Finance Corporation and Elevar Equity  with Francisco Solchaga, Clifford Hendel and  Guillermo Bueno.
In Argentina, Estudio Beccar Varela has advised International Finance Corporation and Elevar Equity with  Pablo José Torretta, María Shakespear and Carolina Rueda.
