EQT acquires Sitecore A/S for $1 Billion

Simpson Thacher is representing EQT VII (“EQT”) as U.S. counsel in connection with EQT’s acquisition of a majority interest in Sitecore A/S (“Sitecore”) from its founders, Technology Crossover Ventures and other minority shareholders in a transaction valuing Sitecore at approximately €1 billion.


EQT Partners AB is a private equity and venture capital firm. The firm, led by Thomas von Koch, Jan Ståhlberg, Fredrik Åtting, Jonas Andersson and Johan Bygge, is based in Stockholm. Sitecore is a leading customer experience management software company that enables context marketing by managing content, supplying contextual intelligence and automating communications across multiple channels. The Simpson Thacher team includes Patrick Naughton (Picture), Jonathan Stradling and Christian Witzke (M&A); Noah Leibowitz and Amber Harezlak (Intellectual Property); Larry Moss, Alisa Tschorke and Caitlin Lucey (Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits); and Krista McManus and Rachel Stein (Real Estate).
