York Capital Management acquires Seven Buildings in Rome

Shearman & Sterling advised York Capital Management Europe Advisors on the first phase of its acquisition of a portfolio of seven buildings in Rome from Milano 90, a subsidiary of the Scarpellini Group.


The acquisition - made by York Capital Management as an investor in an Italian speculative closed-end real estate investment fund managed by Idea Fimit SGR - takes place in the context of the complex financial restructuring of the Scarpellini Group. York Capital Management is a global alternative investment firm specializing in event driven investing. It currently has approximately $24 billion in assets under management, 180 employees and offices in New York, London and Hong Kong.   The Shearman & Sterling team included partner Domenico Fanuele (Picture), counsel Andrea De Pieri and Emanuele Trucco, and associates Marco Barbi and Davide Cavazzana (all Milan-Mergers & Acquisitions). Dla Piper has advised Idea Fimit with a team including Antonio Lombardo, Agostino Papa, Nicoletta Alfano (Fund Management), Francesco De Blasio, Francesco Macrì (Real Estate), Ugo Calò, Michele Parlangeli e Giampiero Priori (Banking & Finance), Giampiero Falasca and Maria Luisa Buscaini (Employment).
